Eve's Monday Musings #1

Eve's Monday Musings #1

Hi everyone,
I’ve been meaning to send an email for a while now that isn’t just me spruiking our latest sale.
I just wanted to have a bit of a chat.
Also, I’m a bit crap at staying in touch, so for many of you this may actually be the very first email you’ve had from me. Sorry about that!
Things have been pretty busy behind the scenes at The Eve Collective. We’re still making everything ourselves, which means rendering and purifying MANY kilos of organic grass-fed tallow, making huge messes (me mostly), experimenting with ingredients and constantly saying things like, ‘What if we tried adding this?’
Some of those ideas work brilliantly. Others… not so much.
But there are lots of new things coming that I’m really excited about. (Products that have slipped passed Tayla’s and Georgia’s eagle eyes who are always yelling at me THAT’S ENOUGH MUM!)

We’ve also been having so many conversations at the markets about the many benefits of tallow, the ingredients we use, why the hell we got into this in the first place when we already have full-time jobs and just life in general.

And somehow, somewhere along the way, our little side hustle has turned into an actual business.

So much so that at the end of this school year, I get to do The Eve Collective full-time. (No more teaching. Yay!)

One of the nicest and most unexpected parts of all of this has been getting to know our customers. There are people we see nearly every Saturday at Yandina Country Markets. And now we’re starting to get to know people at Caloundra Street Fair on Sundays. There are names I recognise immediately when an online order pops up. And I’m now at the point where I sometimes see an order and think, ‘Yep, she’s run out of Nectar again.’

I love that.

I think I’ve also had it in my head that if I’m going to email you, I need to have something important to say.
But really… why?
I’d much rather just pop into your inbox every now and then and tell you what’s happening. Maybe show you something we’re working on. Tell you about an ingredient I’ve become ridiculously obsessed with (currently that’s Sea Buckthorn – watch this space!!) Or share one of the experiments that absolutely did NOT turn out how I thought it would.
Basically, less ‘marketing email’ and more ‘here’s what’s going on at Eve’.
That feels much more like us.
Anyway, that’s it from me. No grand announcement.
Just a very overdue hello, and a huge thank you for buying from us, coming to see us at the markets, telling your friends about us, sending lovely messages and allowing this family-run little tallow business to become something a little bigger than we expected.

P.S. Okay, I lied. There is one little bit of spruiking.
Father’s Day is coming up, so we’ve put Nourish on sale for $20.
It’s our organic tallow moisturiser with castor oil, Blue Cypress, Australian Sandalwood and Quandong extract. The girls have always loved Nourish, but it also happens to have a really nice earthy, blokey scent.
So, if Dad could do with something a little nicer than a pair of socks or a Lynx pack, Nourish might do the trick.
